Giving Thanks and Giving Back

Today we, as kingdom-minded businessmen and businesswomen, are going to stop and take a moment to reflect on our blessings.

It is no coincidence that the season of giving follows the season of gratitude, and yet, since Christmas is much more readily commercialized, more and more we see Thanksgiving pushed to the side. But not today.

Today we, as kingdom-minded businessmen and businesswomen, are going to stop and take a moment to reflect on our blessings. We’re going to look on the bright side, remind ourselves of reasons for hope, and then see how we can give back, in light of the awesome gifts that we have received.

It’s easier to remember the bad things that happened during the week rather than the good things. And if we don’t escape this sort of thinking, many good ideas will be shot down by our internal critic, many good works won’t get done, and our hearts won’t experience that beautiful metamorphosis in which they enter with thanksgiving and come out with praise.

Because the truth is there is still plenty for us to be thankful for…
